Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations team is bringing their focus to the new Discovery, which they plan on making the most off-road capable Land Rover to date when it hits production in 2018. Powered by a 5.0L supercharged V8 that produces 517 hp, the capable off-roader will also be getting suspension modifications and a new feature called Hydraulic Active Roll Control that increases wheel articulation and body control.

Raising the aluminum monocoque chassis and the four-corner air suspension system allowed for improved approach, departure, and breakover angles, all of which is accompanied by long-travel dampers, revised knuckles, and 275/55 R20 Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires with a higher side-wall and a mores aggressive tread pattern.

Active center and electronic rear locking differentials have been added with an updated Terrain Response 2 system for enhanced traction and it updated software calibrations for features like Hill Descent Control, Electronic Traction Control, and Dynamic Stability Control will be exclusive to the SVX.

Additional features include a Tectonic Grey paint finish with Rush Orange accents throughout, Narvik Black side vents with V8 badging, a Narvik Black Dynamic grille, silver roof rails, and a roof-mounted unit with integrated LED 'light pods.'
